Chapter Seventeen
Two champagne glasses down my throat and twenty minutes later, we rushed out of the ballroom with his arms wrapped around me. A little giggle escaped me as we sneaked down the hallways to avoid everyone. Maybe it was the champagne or maybe it was just Lachlan, but whatever it was, I wanted more of it.
As soon as we shut the bedroom door, Lachlan locked it and pushed his body against mine, my back against the wall. His mouth hard on mine, he smashed my lips in a hungry kiss. He impatiently pushed his tongue into my mouth and I moaned against his lips feeling that familiar ache between my thighs.
My hands worked at loosening his tie and then each button down his crisp white shirt. When finally done with the last button, I pushed the shirt off his broad shoulders, tossing it to the side. I explored his chest, enjoying the feel of his warm skin under my fingers. I needed to feel every inch of him. My skin burned everywhere he touched me. I wanted him with every fiber of my being.
He pulled my dress off in one zip and the ballgown pooled at my feet.
âI have a gift for you,â he groaned against my lips.
I opened my eyes, looking at him through heavy lids.
âNow?â I asked in confusion.
âYes,â his smile was warm but his eyes were dark with desire.
I stood there in my black heels, panties, and bra, aching and sensitive all over. I eyed his strong and hard chest like he was eye candy. He still had his pants on and I regretted not taking them off too. I grazed my fingers down his large shoulders, over his six pack and brushed against his bulge.
He took my wrist, his gaze like burning coal.
âNot yet,â he grunted, taking my mouth for a deep kiss that left me gasping for air.
He picked me up by grabbing my butt and walked us over to his large bed. But he stopped across from it and put me down in front of the large mirror. Reaching into the dresser, he picked up a box. Standing behind me, both of us facing our reflection, I couldnât see what he was doing.
Our gazes met in the mirror and I couldnât help but think how oddly arousing this felt. He stepped closer to me, until we were back to front, his cock resting in the curve of my butt.
âLift your hair,â he commanded in a hoarse voice.
My gaze still locked with his, I did as he asked. He reached around me and laid a beautiful sapphire necklace around my throat and fastened it, then paused for mere seconds before he took my necklace with the wedding rings off. I watched him put it away in the drawer, and at that very moment, it felt right not to have those rings between us.
His hand returned to my neck. And as he smoothed his finger over my skin, I felt shivers run down my spine.
âItâs yours,â he said as he pressed a kiss to my ear.
